🎺 PARDONPALOOZA CONTINUES: THE KILLING OF IRONY — AGAIN
It was a busy day for hypocrisy, and a fat one for fraud.Having utterly failed to locate any “waste, fraud, or abuse” in Social Security, Medicare, or Medicaid (apart from their continued existence, presumably), Elon Musk has slinked back to his X perch, undisturbed by the irony tsunami now crashing through Mar-a-Lago’s gilded halls.
For no sooner had the billionaire bloodhound whiffed and whimpered than Donald Trump bestowed clemency upon a man who bilked Medicare out of tens of millions of dollars and was sentenced to fifty years for his troubles. Read it and weep (or rage).
Yes, dear reader. Not a wrongly convicted man. Not a cautionary tale of prosecutorial overreach. But a South Florida fraudster whose only real error was, apparently, doing the same thing the current administration does — just without a presidential seal.
This freshly loosed bandit now joins a conga line of Pardonpalooza alumni: grifters, racketeers, cronies, influencers, and evangelists of extraction, each waved through by the rotund rubber stamp of clemency.
All of this arrives hot on the swampy heels of Trump’s bald-faced lie that his "Big Beautiful Bill" contains “no cuts” to Medicaid — despite the actual legislative text cleaving access like a budgetary guillotine. “Who Are You Going to Believe?” he dares, “Me or your bleeding eyes?”
We are reminded once again: the cruelty is the point, but the joke — the tired, gallows-rung, mercy-murdered joke — is on us.
